Diplomatic Expulsions Conflict... Russia Designates Norway as 'Unfriendly Country'
On the 3rd (local time), major local media reported that Russia has added Norway, with which it has had conflicts including reciprocal expulsions of diplomats, to its list of unfriendly countries.
The Russian government announced on the same day that it has added Norway to the list of countries taking unfriendly measures against Russian diplomatic and consular missions abroad.
Countries included on this list have a limited number of staff allowed to be stationed in Russia. For Norway, the limit is 27 personnel.

In April, Norway expelled 15 Russian diplomats on espionage charges, and shortly thereafter, Russia reciprocally expelled 10 Norwegian diplomats. At that time, Norwegian authorities stated that the diplomats were intelligence agents disguised under diplomatic cover, but Russia protested, calling it an "extremely unfriendly measure."
