Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) has begun inspections of various construction sites, including apartment complexes.

He continued, "Please further strengthen on-site inspections and construction supervision from design to completion regarding private park special projects, redevelopment, urban regeneration projects, and SOC projects currently underway or planned in the district, including the Housing Division and Architecture Division of Seo-gu Office."

Mayor Kim also emphasized the prevention and management of heat-related illnesses among construction workers at the site.

With the government raising the heatwave crisis alert level to the highest 'severe' stage, Mayor Kim thoroughly inspected whether measures such as providing drinking water, adhering to rest times, adjusting working hours, and installing rest shelters were properly implemented at construction sites in the district to prevent heat-related illnesses among workers, and urged preventive activities for elderly workers and those with hypertension.

Mayor Kim stated, "There are currently about 40 large-scale construction projects underway in Seo-gu," and added, "Safety is the top priority above all else, so please do not let your guard down even for a moment and establish a thorough safety network."
