Gwangju National Science Museum Hosts Smartphone Astrophotography Contest
The National Gwangju Science Museum is hosting the 4th Smartphone Astrophotography Contest.
The Gwangju Science Museum announced on the 2nd that submissions for the contest will be accepted via email from October 2 to 31.
Participants must submit photos related to space and celestial bodies taken directly with a smartphone, with a maximum of two entries per person.
The contest is divided into the Youth Division (ages 9-18) and the General Division (ages 19 and above). Anyone interested in astronomy and space can participate.
After judging, a total of seven winners will be selected, including one grand prize winner across all divisions, and one gold, silver, and bronze winner each in the elementary and middle school divisions. Winners will receive the National Gwangju Science Museum Director's Award and prizes.
The winning works will be exhibited at the Gwangju Science Museum in December.

Yoon O-seop, a researcher at the Gwangju Science Museum, stated, "Although the contest will be held in October, those preparing their entries are encouraged to capture beautiful celestial photos throughout the seasons, considering the changing night sky, starting now."
