Kim Eun-kyung "Humiliated under Yoon Seok-yeol"... Democratic Party "Trying to Cover Up Ageist Remarks with True Colors"
Kim Eun-kyung, the Innovation Committee Chair of the Democratic Party of Korea, who sparked controversy with her 'elderly disparagement' remarks, has caused another controversy by referring to President Yoon Seok-yeol without his title, saying, "It was extremely humiliating to finish my term under Yoon Seok-yeol." The ruling party reacted angrily, saying, "She revealed her true colors to cover up her elderly disparagement remarks."
On the 2nd, Park Dae-chul, Policy Committee Chair of the People Power Party, criticized on his social media (SNS), "Even though it was an official occasion, she did not use the president's title. This is a statement that lacks basic respect for the president, who was elected by the people's sovereignty according to the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Korea, and for the people."
At a meeting with citizens of Incheon the previous day, Kim explained why she took on the role of Innovation Committee Chair, saying, "It was embarrassing to be governed under Yoon Seok-yeol," referring to President Yoon without his title, which sparked controversy.
Park, the Policy Committee Chair, said, "In addition to the elderly disparagement remarks, she has essentially confessed her lack of qualifications as a public official," adding, "Who appointed her? Despite the regime change, she completed her full term in a high-ranking position that ordinary citizens can hardly dream of, and now she shamelessly talks about humiliation."
There were also pointed remarks highlighting that the vice-chair position at the Financial Supervisory Service, which Kim held, is a high-paying 'dream job.' Jang Ye-chan, the Youth Supreme Council Member of the People Power Party, said, "Kim, who said it was humiliating to finish her term under the Yoon Seok-yeol government, let's be honest," and questioned, "Then why did she stubbornly endure and complete her term for another year despite the regime change?"
He added, "The position Kim held as Director of the Financial Consumer Protection Bureau is a coveted job with an annual salary of 300 million won," and said, "From the public's perspective, it looks like she reluctantly held onto a good position and stubbornly completed her term."

Jo Kyung-tae, a member of the People Power Party, said, "If she truly felt humiliated, she should have quit immediately when the Yoon Seok-yeol government took office. I want to ask why she finished her term until the end," and criticized, "Her mindset is completely trapped in partisan logic, almost at the level of a 'gae-ddal' (a derogatory term for blind partisan followers)."
