Gyeonggi Office of Education to Hold Forum on Amendment of Student Human Rights Ordinance
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will hold a forum to discuss amendments to the Student Human Rights Ordinance.
On the 1st, the Office announced that on the 3rd, it will hold a forum on the amendment of the 'Gyeonggi-do Student Human Rights Ordinance' at the National Institute for International Education in Seongnam, focusing on topics such as students' rights and responsibilities, guaranteeing the learning rights of all students, and protecting teachers' educational activities.
This forum was organized to gather diverse opinions from educational stakeholders ahead of the planned amendments to the Student Human Rights Ordinance prepared by the Office of Education.
The forum will be chaired by Park Gang-yong, former principal of Unjung High School, and will include participants such as Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly members Oh Ji-hoon and Lee Ho-dong, as well as students, teachers, experts, and parents from the province.
The event will proceed with a panel discussion and a Q&A session with on-site participants regarding the proper direction and content of the amendments to the Student Human Rights Ordinance.
The Office of Education plans to collect various opinions from the forum, prepare a legislative proposal in the second half of the year, and complete the ordinance amendment within the year.

We expect it to be a time to build consensus on respecting both students' human rights and teachers' educational activities, and to foster a harmonious school culture."
