CJ CheilJedang's 'Bibigo' announced on the 1st that it will launch season 2 of the 'Bibigo Chef Collection,' which captures the flavors of star chefs.
The Bibigo Chef Collection is a premium meal kit designed to allow customers to comfortably enjoy fine Korean dining by famous chefs at home. It embodies Bibigo's philosophy of globalizing Korean cuisine by delivering menus filled with the creativity of star chefs in the highest quality taste.
Bibigo Chef Collection Season 2 collaborates with Chef Eom Tae-cheol of 'Soseol Hannam,' a 1-star restaurant in the 'Michelin Guide Seoul 2023.' Soseol Hannam is a modern Korean restaurant renowned for its humble and refined Korean dishes reinterpreted in a contemporary style. Through this collaboration, CJ CheilJedang and Chef Eom developed three premium meal kits featuring new dimensions of Korean cuisine: 'Whole Shrimp Jeonbye with Clam Broth,' 'Grilled Duck Leg with Duck Bone Broth Porridge,' and 'Perilla Oil Seaweed Buckwheat Noodles with Abundant Chamgodeung.'
'Whole Shrimp Jeonbye with Clam Broth' features whole shrimp meat spread out, coated with starch, and shaped like handmade sujebi (hand-torn dough flakes), a menu exclusive to the Bibigo Chef Collection. 'Grilled Duck Leg with Duck Bone Broth Porridge' uses domestically sourced duck leg meat marinated in the chef’s special seasoning to eliminate any gamey smell, adding a luxurious and subtle flavor. The meat is hand-shaped and grilled, resulting in a crispy exterior while maintaining juicy and tender meat fibers inside, providing a delightful chewing texture.
'Perilla Oil Seaweed Buckwheat Noodles with Abundant Chamgodeung' is a reinterpretation of Soseol Hannam’s signature seaweed buckwheat noodles using new ingredients. The special soy sauce made from seaweed and gim (laver) is enhanced with perilla oil for a deep and rich flavor. The dish also features chewy Chamgodeung, crunchy stir-fried cucumber, and crispy scorched rice garnish, enhancing both texture and color, making it a perfect menu for the hot summer.
