The Damyang-gun Eco-friendly Microorganism Center is playing a significant role in reducing the financial burden on farms and resolving residents' odor complaints, earning great affection from local farmers.
Damyang-gun has lowered the supply price of eco-friendly microorganisms from 300 KRW per liter to 200 KRW per liter starting March 1st this year to alleviate the financial burden on livestock farms caused by rapid changes in the livestock industry environment.
This has driven the expansion of eco-friendly microorganism supply and received high praise from local farmers due to the cost-saving effects.
Additionally, the livestock odor-reducing microorganisms supplied free of charge reduce ammonia (65%) and hydrogen sulfide (42%), which are odor-causing substances inside livestock barns, helping maintain hygienic livestock farming and resolving odor-related complaints.
Last month, 25 students from the Jeonnam Agricultural Meister University (Dean Song Kyunghwan), Eco-friendly Hanwoo Class (Class Leader Song Inju), visited Damyang-gun to observe the excellent operation cases of the Eco-friendly Microorganism Center.
On that day, the county shared information on the theory of microorganism utilization, practical training on microorganism identification under a microscope, and overall operation of the microorganism cultivation room with the Jeonnam Agricultural Meister University Eco-friendly Hanwoo Class visiting the Eco-friendly Microorganism Center.
Song Inju, the class leader of the Eco-friendly Hanwoo Class who visited the site, said, “This benchmarking was a valuable opportunity to build capabilities in utilizing eco-friendly microorganisms that can achieve both clean livestock farming and cost reduction.”
