Hanwha, Continuous Recruitment of 'Space Talent'..."Pioneering the Space Economy Together"
Hiring 000 People in Over 10 Fields Including Launch Vehicles, Satellites, and Exploration
Hanwha is set to secure talent to lead the 'space economy.' In South Korea, where there is an absolute shortage of personnel compared to space powers like the United States, the company plans to establish an excellent talent infrastructure that connects 'discovery-development-recruitment' and lead the country's space era through public-private cooperation.
Hanwha Aerospace and Hanwha Systems announced on the 31st that they will recruit a total of 000 'Space Hub Crew' members, including new graduates and experienced professionals, across more than 10 fields in the space business such as engine systems, combustor design, guidance, and attitude control through Hanwha's official recruitment portal, 'Hanwha In.' Recruitment for new graduates will continue until the 18th of next month, while experienced hires will be recruited on an ongoing basis without a deadline.
The Space Hub is a space business council of the Hanwha Group, consisting of Hanwha Corporation, Hanwha Aerospace, and Hanwha Systems. The selected personnel will be responsible for innovative projects such as the Nuri launch vehicle, satellite services, and planetary exploration in line with South Korea's 'Space Economy Roadmap,' which includes the '2032 lunar landing and 2045 Mars landing' missions.
Starting with this recruitment, Hanwha Aerospace plans to boldly attract talent both domestically and internationally. Due to the nature of the space industry, which gathers advanced scientific technologies, securing talent across various technical fields is essential. The rapid growth of the American startup 'SpaceX' into a global space company was also thanks to quickly securing top talent from Silicon Valley and experts from NASA.
However, South Korea has an absolute shortage of personnel working in the space sector. According to the '2022 Space Industry Survey' released by the Ministry of Science and ICT, while the United States has 170,000 people working in the space industry, South Korea has only about 10,000. This environment necessitates actively securing space personnel with top-level capabilities on an ongoing basis.
