Daegu Electronic Technical High School to Open Semiconductor Meister High School in 2025... Daegu Office of Education Holds Support Meeting
On the 30th, the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education held a meeting at the Daegu Electronics Technical High School auditorium to support the opening of Daegu Electronics Technical High School, which was selected as a Meister High School in the semiconductor field.
With the semiconductor Meister High School opening in Daegu in 2025, the meeting held on the 28th aimed to discuss school support measures such as student employment in semiconductor companies, semiconductor curriculum, and educational equipment support. It also served as a preliminary discussion for establishing an industry-academia-research-government promotion council.

During the meeting, various support measures were discussed, including linking employment with semiconductor companies, corporate support for semiconductor-related educational equipment, government support from ministries such as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, budget support from local governments including Daegu City and Dalseo District Office, and cooperation in curriculum operation from regional universities such as Kyungpook National University, DGIST, and Yeungnam College of Science and Technology.
After being selected as a Meister High School in the semiconductor field, Daegu Electronics Technical High School will convert to a Meister High School starting from the 2025 academic year, selecting 96 new students across six classes: three classes for semiconductor manufacturing and three classes for semiconductor equipment.
The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education has secured a total of 27.9 billion KRW, including 21.6 billion KRW from its own budget, 5 billion KRW from the Ministry of Education, 1 billion KRW from Daegu City, and 300 million KRW from Dalseo District, to support the Meister High School’s operation, including the construction of dormitories, establishment of practice rooms, purchase of equipment, and program operation.
