Kim A-lim continued her pursuit of the championship.
On the 29th (local time), she shot 4-under par in the third round of the Amundi Evian Championship (total prize money $6.5 million), the fourth major tournament of the 2023 LPGA Tour season, held at Evian Resort Golf Club (par 71, 6,527 yards) in Evian-les-Bains, France, moving up to a tie for 7th place (5-under par 208). C?line Boutier (France) leads at 11-under par 202, followed by Nasa Hataoka (Japan) in second place at 8-under par 205.

After back-to-back birdies on holes 4 and 5, she reduced her score by 2 strokes in the front nine. Her birdie on the 11th hole was offset by a bogey on the 16th. On the final 18th hole (par 5), Kim made a crucial eagle, securing her spot for the final round. Her powerful drives averaged 278 yards, complemented by a remarkable 'stingy putting' performance with 27 putts. She trails the leader by 6 strokes, leaving room for a comeback.
Kim A-lim has won three times on the Korean LPGA (KLPGA) Tour. After winning the major US Women's Open in 2020 as a non-member, she joined the LPGA Tour the following year. Although she has not won this year, she has made one top-10 finish in 11 tournaments. Her best result this season was a tie for 4th place at the Chevron Championship major in April.
Kim said, "The rain made the greens soft, which allowed me to play more aggressively. I was also feeling better physically, so I played with a relaxed mind." Regarding her eagle on the 18th hole, she explained, "It was a hole where my tee shot, second shot, and putt all went as planned. I'm satisfied." Although she admitted, "My current condition is not perfect," she added, "I'm recovering faster than I expected, so I can look forward to tomorrow."
Boutier maintained her lead on the leaderboard for the second consecutive day by shooting 4-under par. She is ranked 15th in the world with three career wins since her debut in 2017. Defending champion Brooke Henderson (Canada) shot 4-under par to jump to a tie for 3rd place (7-under par 206). Minjee Lee (Australia) is also in this group. World No. 2 Nelly Korda (USA) surged with a 7-under par round to move up to a tie for 5th place (6-under par 207). Rising star Rose Zhang (USA) is tied for 20th (2-under par 211), and world No. 3 Lydia Ko (New Zealand) is tied for 30th (even par 213).

From Korea, Kim Hyo-joo shot 4-under par to tie for 14th place (3-under par 210). Ji Eun-hee and Kim Su-ji are tied for 23rd (1-under par 212). World No. 1 Ko Jin-young made three birdies but five bogeys, losing 2 strokes and dropping to a tie for 30th. Park Sung-hyun and Yoo Hae-ran are tied for 39th (1-over par 214), while Jeon In-ji and Park Min-ji are tied for 53rd (3-over par 216), all set for the final round. Choi Hye-jin is tied for 57th (4-over par 217), Yang Hee-young tied for 63rd (5-over par 218), and Shin Ji-ae is tied for 67th (8-over par 221).
