Ulsan Fire Department "Most in August, Caution for Outdoor Activities"
As summer arrives with an increase in 'bees', the fire authorities are on high alert.
The Ulsan Fire Headquarters (Chief Lee Jae-soon) stated that with the end of the rainy season and the active behavior of bees, the number of dispatches for beehive removal has explosively increased, urging special caution.
According to last year's Ulsan Fire Headquarters' safety dispatch statistics, the total number of beehive removal dispatches reached 4,054 cases.
Among them, the number of dispatches from November to May over seven months was 250 cases, while from June to October over five months, it was 3,804 cases (93.8%), showing a significant increase between June and October.
Looking specifically at beehive removal dispatches from June to August, June had 155 cases (4%), July had 894 cases (24%), and especially August recorded the highest number of the year with 1,659 cases (41%).

A Ulsan Fire Headquarters official said, “As the peak vacation season begins, if you find a beehive while spending your holiday in valleys or mountains, please do not remove it yourself but report it to 119.”
