Y-MART Donates 10 Million KRW Development Fund to Dongshin University
Kim Seong-jin, Chairman of Y-MART, and Jo Beop, CEO of Y-Sikjajaemart Naju Branch, donated 10 million KRW to Dongshin University as a development fund.
On the 27th at 4 p.m., Dongshin University held the ‘Y-MART Chairman Kim Seong-jin and Y-Sikjajaemart Naju Branch CEO Jo Beop Development Fund Donation Ceremony’ in Seminar Room 1 on the first floor of the Central Library.
At the ceremony, Chairman Kim and CEO Jo presented a donation certificate of 10 million KRW to Dongshin University President Lee Joo-hee for the university development fund.
Y-MART, which carries the meaning of moving forward energetically with the young (YOUNG) heart of youth, opened in 1993 as ‘Yeongam Sanghoe’ and expanded its business under the name ‘Yeongam Mart.’
Currently, it operates over 130 medium and large stores, maintaining pride as a local company in the domestic distribution market dominated by large corporations.
It also actively engages in various social contribution activities such as store-by-store donation relays, talent development fund donations, and participation in the Hometown Love Donation Program.
In his greeting, Chairman Kim said, “Starting from a small store and growing into a medium and large mart, we are giving back the love we received from local residents through sharing,” adding, “We will strive harder to become a company that coexists with the region by supporting the growth of the university and students.”
CEO Jo emphasized, “Y-MART actively supports the employment and entrepreneurship of young people who take on challenges through its own education system,” and said, “We want to give dreams and hope to local youth.”
