Yongsan-gu (Mayor Park Hee-young) held a kick-off meeting on the 25th to initiate the 'Yongsan-gu Sports Facility Expansion Mid- to Long-term Development Plan Establishment Research Project.'
This project aims to identify local residents' satisfaction and demands regarding sports facilities and activities, and to establish plans for facility expansion and mid- to long-term development.
The project reviews regional characteristics and the current status of public sports facilities, exploring ways to expand community sports facilities by utilizing idle land or donated spaces. Additionally, it plans to distribute sports facilities in a balanced manner that reflects population, region, and demand, ensuring facilities that residents want and frequently use.
In particular, the district considers it crucial to reflect the actual facility needs of residents, and plans to strengthen resident participation throughout the project via surveys, opinion collection, and interviews.
Yongsan-gu is facing new changes such as the International Business District, the creation of Yongsan Park, and large-scale urban environment improvements. With expected population growth due to urban development projects like redevelopment and reconstruction, a systematic development plan that can evenly meet residents' sports activity demands is increasingly necessary.
