Gochang-gun Expands Participation Opportunities for Hometown Love Donation Program Gift Suppliers

Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 27th that it held a hometown love donation return gift selection committee on the 26th and decided to expand the choices for donors and increase participation opportunities for local suppliers.

Previously, the county selected a total of 38 return gifts including agricultural, fishery, and livestock products, processed foods, traditional crafts, and tourism, experience, and service products, and currently, 58 companies are providing return gifts.

This selection committee chose tourism experience vouchers such as a fishing village experience using the Gochang tidal flat, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and a temple stay at Seonunsa Temple in Seonunsan Provincial Park as return gifts.

It also attracted attention by selecting unique agricultural specialty products of Gochang-gun, such as Godeulppaegi (wild lettuce) and salted napa cabbage, as items.

The county plans to announce the return gift items, recruit suppliers, conduct deliberations, and start providing return gifts from next month.

The return gifts mostly selected were representative agricultural specialty products of Gochang-gun, such as eel, sweet potatoes, and peanuts.

However, even seven months after the donation system was implemented, there are still items that have not been selected, so the county plans to discuss applying a return gift rest year system through future evaluations.

The county aims to promote donation expansion and continuous interest in the donation system through events for achieving 300 million won in donations and public contests for fund projects, and to lead communication and participation of all residents to discover unique fund projects.

Choi Jong-yeop, chairman of the return gift selection committee, said, “For the activation of the hometown love donation system, selecting return gifts that are differentiated from other regions is very important above all,” and added, “We will continuously discover and select return gifts that can utilize various resources of the county to repay the hearts of donors.”
