[Concall] Samsung SDI "All-solid-state battery aims for industry-leading 900Wh/L or higher"
Son Michael, Vice President of Samsung SDI, stated during the Q2 earnings conference call on the 27th that regarding all-solid-state batteries, "With prototype production starting in June, we plan to begin customer sample production in the second half of the year and are in detailed discussions to equip demo vehicles of automakers." He added, "We are adopting sulfide-based technology with high ionic conductivity and applying NCA cathode material with a nickel content increased to 94%, along with proprietary silver carbon anode technology, aiming for an industry-leading energy density of over 900 watt-hours per liter (Wh/L)."
He said, "Although we cannot disclose specific customer names, we have secured a new customer project scheduled for mass production in 2027 and are in talks with multiple automakers. We will prepare without any setbacks to achieve the 2027 mass production target and lead future automotive technology."
