Surrendered After Crime... "Livelihood Was Desperate"
A man in his 60s who killed his cohabiting partner in her 70s, with whom he had lived for decades, was handed over to the prosecution while in custody.
On the 26th, the Gangbuk Police Station in Seoul announced that they had sent Mr. A, a man in his 60s, to the prosecution on charges of murder.
Mr. A is suspected of killing Ms. B, a woman in her 70s suffering from a rare disease, on the 21st. Mr. A had been living with Ms. B for 30 to 40 years and was known to have cared for her over a long period while she battled the rare illness. After the crime, Mr. A surrendered himself at a police substation located in Jongno-gu, Seoul. Ms. B was reportedly found at her home by a caregiver.
