'Suspicious Yellow Package' Reports Nationwide 3,281 Cases... 260 Cases Increased Overnight
The National Police Agency announced that as of 5 a.m. on the 26th, a total of 3,281 reports were received nationwide regarding suspicious mail items received from overseas.
The police explained that they have collected and are investigating 1,125 of these cases, while the remaining 2,156 were confirmed to be false reports.
This figure increased by 260 from 3,021 cases as of 5 p.m. the previous day, with 80 additional collections and 180 more false reports.
By region, Gyeonggi had the highest number with 947 cases, followed by Seoul with 774, Incheon 171, Chungnam 15, Gyeongbuk 144, and Daegu 136 cases.
Daejeon reported 128 cases, Busan 125, Jeonbuk 123, Chungbuk 113, Jeonnam 106, Gyeongnam 88, Gwangju and Ulsan each 87, Gangwon 61, Jeju 23, and Sejong 13, with reports continuing nationwide.

The police urged that if you find a parcel in a yellow or black envelope marked with 'CHUNGHWA POST' and the sender address 'P.O.Box 100561-003777, Taipei Taiwan,' do not open it and immediately report it to the nearest police station or call 112.
