"Leading the Global Smart Construction Market"... Industry-Academia-Research-Government Alliance Launched
A council involving industry, academia, research institutes, and government will be launched to lead the global smart construction market.
On the afternoon of the 26th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that it will hold the launch ceremony of the 'Smart Construction Alliance' at the Construction Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to discuss the spread of smart construction and key issues.
The alliance is composed of about 300 private companies, including large corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises, and venture companies, leading the discussions, with academia, research institutes, and the public sector cooperating to produce effective results.
The council is largely divided into a 'Technical Committee,' which focuses on spreading plans by core technologies, and a 'Special Committee,' which handles common issues among the technical committees. Six technical committees are chaired by six major construction companies respectively and will be fully operational after the launch ceremony. The special committee will initially operate in the institutional field, where corporate demand is high.
The alliance will play a leading role in innovation by establishing standards related to smart technology, selecting leading projects, and preparing institutional improvement plans for regulations and difficulties.
About 500 stakeholders are expected to attend the launch event based on pre-registration. The launch ceremony will proceed in the order of a pre-event (technology demonstration by leading companies of the technical committees), the main event, and the general meeting. From the main event, participation will also be possible online via YouTube streaming.
The event will begin with the alliance theme video, followed by a greeting from Hyundai Construction, the inaugural chair company, congratulatory remarks from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and a launch commemorative ceremony. During the general meeting, discussions will be held on the alliance’s articles of association and operational plans for each committee.
