Jeon Nam-do Councilor Shin Eui-jun: "There Must Be No Setbacks in Establishing the National Maritime and Fisheries Museum"
Shin Eui-jun, a member of the Jeonnam Provincial Assembly (Democratic Party of Korea·Wando 2), demanded the smooth construction of the National Maritime Fisheries Museum and the Marine Healing Center during the 3rd Standing Committee meeting on the Marine and Fisheries Bureau's work report at the 373rd extraordinary session.
According to the Jeonnam Provincial Assembly on the 26th, the "National Maritime Fisheries Museum" is a large-scale complex marine cultural facility to be built on a 45,000㎡ site in Jangja-ri, Wando-eup, Wando-gun, with a project cost of 144.2 billion KRW, equipped with exhibition, experience, and research facilities.

View original imageAssemblyman Shin said, "For the construction to proceed smoothly from next year, it must pass the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's feasibility evaluation and the Ministry of Economy and Finance's preliminary feasibility study."
He continued, "The Marine Healing Center is being constructed in Sinji-myeon, Wando-gun, with a budget of 32 billion KRW since 2019, aiming to open in September, but completion has been delayed due to heavy rains and other factors."
He then emphasized, "Please do your best so that the 'National Maritime Fisheries Museum,' which consolidates the nation's largest marine ecological resources and marine history, culture, and fisheries resources using marine and fisheries content, and the 'Marine Healing Center,' a growth engine for sustainable fisheries and fishing villages, can become landmarks representing the southwestern coast."
