Mr. Kim Sang-yeop expressed his gratitude for being able to do something for the juniors, saying he wants to support local youth so that they do not lose their dreams and can grow into talents with global competitiveness.
On the same day, ‘Samhwa P&C’ created a new culture of giving by registering 50 employees as regular donors to the scholarship foundation simultaneously and donating a total of 5 million won, with each employee contributing 100,000 won.
It is a very rare case for dozens of employees from one company to register as regular donors to the scholarship foundation at the same time, and this was influenced by the unique conviction of the young CEO, Representative Son Wi-hyeok.
The employees participating in this scholarship donation for the first time in their lives said, “The company delivered the full donation amount, so all employees became part of the scholarship project for nurturing talent.”
Representative Son Wi-hyeok, who is currently serving as a director of the scholarship foundation, said, “I have always considered donating as a given through my father, Chairman Son Kyung-ho, who retired from active duty, so there is nothing to boast about. The first time is difficult, but once you donate, you participate every year. I want to give employees the joy of becoming donors and feel rewarded by being able to help students who have excellent academic performance but face difficulties in pursuing higher education due to financial hardship through the scholarship foundation. I hope our company’s case will contribute to the development of the Pohang Scholarship Foundation,” showing humility.
