'Suspicious Yellow Package' Reports Nationwide Total 2,793... 170 Cases Increase Overnight
The National Police Agency announced that as of 5 a.m. on the 25th, a total of 2,793 reports of suspicious mail received from overseas have been filed nationwide.
The police explained that they have collected and are investigating 961 of these cases, while the remaining 1,832 were confirmed to be false reports.
This is an increase of 170 cases from 2,623 as of 5 p.m. the previous day, with 58 additional collections and 112 more false reports.
By region, Gyeonggi had the highest number with 836 cases, followed by Seoul with 647, Incheon 147, Chungnam 133, and Gyeongbuk 127.
Busan and Daejeon each had 108 cases, Jeonbuk 107, Daegu 103, Chungbuk 96, Jeonnam 86, Gwangju 76, Ulsan 72, Gyeongnam 68, Gangwon 48, Jeju 19, and Sejong 12, with reports continuing nationwide.
Daegu had 78 cases, Chungbuk 73, Busan 72, Daejeon 71, Gwangju 59, Jeonnam 58, Ulsan 53, Gyeongnam 38, Gangwon 30, Jeju 12, and Sejong 9, with reports continuing nationwide.

The police urged that if you find a package in a yellow or black envelope marked with "CHUNGHWA POST" and the sender address "P.O.Box 100561-003777, Taipei Taiwan," do not open it and immediately report it to the nearest police station or call 112.
