Han Gi-ho and Seo Young-kyo Sue Distributors of False Information on 'Seoicho Elementary School Teacher Death Incident' (Comprehensive)
Complaint Filed for Defamation Charges
Han Gi-ho "Cannot Forgive"
Seo Young-kyo "Malicious False Information Dissemination"
Following Rep. Han Gi-ho of the People Power Party, Rep. Seo Young-kyo of the Democratic Party of Korea also filed a lawsuit on the 24th against those who spread false information related to the 'Seoicho Teacher Death Incident' involvement allegations.
On the same day, Rep. Han submitted a complaint to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in Jongno-gu, Seoul, accusing the involved parties of spreading false information and defamation. The targets of the lawsuit included the person who first spread the involvement rumor on the internet and broadcaster Kim Eo-jun, who mentioned it on his YouTube broadcast.
After submitting the complaint, Rep. Han told reporters, "Our society is now seeing a person being destroyed without any factual basis or any connection, and fake news being created. It is time to judge and definitely uncover the truth."
On the morning of the 24th, Han Gi-ho, a member of the People Power Party, is moving to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's General Civil Complaints Office to file a complaint against the initial distributor of fake news related to Seoi Elementary School and broadcaster Kim Eo-jun on charges of spreading false information and defamation.

Rep. Seo also submitted a complaint to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in the afternoon of the same day. This was a legal measure taken after posts spreading false information that Rep. Seo’s children were involved in the incident circulated on online communities such as 'Ilbe.'
The background for the two lawmakers filing complaints simultaneously is closely related to broadcaster Kim Eo-jun’s claim of involvement by a 'three-term National Assembly member.' When Kim mentioned the Seoicho incident on his YouTube broadcast, saying, "It is known that a current politician is involved. (That person) is a three-term member of the People Power Party, as far as I know, but there has been no coverage at all," speculative posts identifying Rep. Han followed. After Rep. Han’s side clarified, "My great-granddaughter is a middle school student," Kim said, "This information is inaccurate, so I will correct it. I will conduct additional investigation and inform you again." Subsequently, online communities pointed to Rep. Seo, a three-term member of the Democratic Party.
