Gwangju Seo-gu to Recruit Participants for 'Art Competition' Until Next Month
Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 24th that it is recruiting participants for the "6th National Amateur Arts Competition" until the 31st of next month.
This annual event, a representative cultural and artistic event of Seo-gu, was prepared to open a stage where artistic talent and capabilities can be demonstrated, and to discover and nurture outstanding groups.
Eligibility to participate is open to any amateur cultural and artistic clubs and groups with four or more members nationwide. Teams of children aged 6 to 13 can participate in the K-KIDS STAR category, and teams aged 14 and above can participate in the SUPER ROOKIE category.
The competition fields include ▲ Singing (classical, jazz, ballad, trot, folk songs, pansori, band) ▲ Instrumental performance (traditional Korean instruments, keyboard instruments, wind instruments, percussion instruments, string instruments, electronic instruments) ▲ Dance (Korean dance, classical dance, practical dance, etc.) in three categories.
After recruitment, a total of 20 teams will advance to the finals through preliminary rounds in September, and the final competition will be held at the 8th Gwangju Seochang Eoksae Festival in October.
Prizes will be awarded from the grand prize to encouragement awards in the competition. The K-KIDS STAR grand prize winner will receive the Mayor's Award and a prize of 500,000 KRW, and the SUPER ROOKIE grand prize winner will receive the Mayor's Award and a prize of 2,500,000 KRW.
Applications can be submitted by attaching an application form available on the Seo-gu Office website along with a performance video of up to 5 minutes via email.
A Seo-gu official said, "We will strive to revitalize cultural and artistic clubs and groups and realize a happiness-centered cultural city," and added, "We hope for active participation from talented clubs and groups."
