Jeongeup-si Accepting Applications for 'Youth Monthly Rent Special Support' Until the 21st of Next Month

Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 24th that it will accept applications for the Youth Monthly Rent Temporary Special Support Project until the 21st of next month to alleviate the housing cost burden for homeless youth.

The Youth Monthly Rent Temporary Special Support Project is a program that supports local youth by providing 200,000 KRW per month for rent for one year, up to a maximum of 2.4 million KRW, to help establish a foundation for youth independence and reduce housing cost burdens.

The support targets homeless youth aged 19 to 34 (born between 1988 and 2004) residing in Jeongeup City, who live separately from their parents and reside in housing with a rental deposit of 50 million KRW or less and monthly rent of 600,000 KRW or less.

Income and property requirements stipulate that the youth applicant’s household income must be 60% or less of the median income (1,246,735 KRW for a single-person household), and the property value must be 107 million KRW or less.

The total household income, including parents, must be 100% or less of the median income (4,434,816 KRW for a three-person household), and the property value must be 380 million KRW or less.

Applications can be submitted online through the Bokjiro website or by visiting the local town office or community service center in the applicant’s jurisdiction.

Mayor Lee Hak-su said, “Since this is a temporary project, I hope that youth who have not yet applied will hurry to apply to reduce their economic burden and focus on their studies and employment. We will do our best to ensure that many young people can benefit.”
