President-led Chief Secretary Meeting Emphasizes Strengthening Teacher Authority
On the 24th, President Yoon Suk-yeol instructed the preparation of a Ministry of Education notice focused on strengthening teachers' authority, while also directing the revision of local ordinances that encourage violations of teachers' rights.
On the same day, during a senior secretaries' meeting held at the Yongsan Presidential Office, President Yoon ordered the enactment of the Ministry of Education notice related to strengthening teachers' authority and the promotion of local ordinance revisions, according to a written briefing by Lee Do-woon, spokesperson for the Presidential Office.
President Yoon stated, "Since the revision of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and its enforcement decree, adopted and promoted as a national agenda to strengthen teachers' authority by our government, has recently been completed, promptly prepare the Ministry of Education notice, which serves as a concrete guideline for frontline schools."

He further urged, "In consultation with the ruling party and local governments, also proceed concurrently with revising unreasonable local ordinances that infringe on teachers' authority."
