BPA Installs 'Safety Shade' at Gamcheon Port West Pier
Busan Port Authority (BPA) has installed new 'safety shade tents' for stevedores at the west side of Gamcheon Port Wharf in anticipation of extreme heat waves this summer.
BPA, in collaboration with the Busan Port Logistics Association, installed 10 safety shade tents designed based on feedback from on-site workers.
The safety shade tents can be freely moved to areas near the cargo handling sites. Workers can check the site conditions while avoiding direct sunlight, helping to prevent heat-related illnesses.
The safety shade tents, made by modifying 8-foot containers, have one wall removed, double doors on the opposite wall, and two 1㎡ windows on each side to allow good ventilation.
