Hyosung Embracing the Hearts of Siblings of Children with Disabilities, Healing Outing Together
Supporting Children with Disabilities and Their Families for 10 Years
Hyosung announced on the 24th that it embarked on a healing outing with siblings of children with disabilities.
On the 22nd, Hyosung spent time relieving stress by ice skating and visiting the aquarium at Lotte World in Songpa-gu, Seoul, with 13 elementary, middle, and high school siblings of children with disabilities gathered from across the country.
The students who accompanied this outing are non-disabled siblings receiving educational and psychological treatment support from Hyosung and the Purme Foundation, as well as non-disabled siblings of children with disabilities receiving rehabilitation support funds.
Since 2019, Hyosung has supported a youth outing program aimed at helping siblings of children with disabilities relieve stress healthily and gain diverse experiences. In families with children with disabilities, economic and human resources generally focus on the child with disabilities, causing siblings to experience feelings of alienation, responsibility, and burden.
One student who participated in the event said, "I am happy to meet new friends," adding, "I am leaving this outing feeling very energized."
Hyosung Chairman Cho Hyun-jun has consistently emphasized, "We will fulfill our social responsibility to provide practical help to our neighbors."
Since 2013, Hyosung has been sponsoring a medical rehabilitation support fund for children with disabilities in partnership with the Purme Foundation. This year, it donated 150 million won in support funds.
