300 Daegu Public Officials Conduct Flood Recovery for 3 Days in Gamcheon-myeon, Yecheon-gun
To aid in the recovery efforts for the flood-affected areas in Gyeongbuk, 300 public officials from Daegu City will volunteer in Gamcheon-myeon, Yecheon-gun, for three days from the 24th to the 26th.
Due to continuous heavy rains, damage was concentrated in the northern Gyeongbuk regions such as Yecheon, Yeongju, Mungyeong, and Bonghwa. Among these, in Cheonhyang 2-ri, Gamcheon-myeon, where large heavy equipment or vehicle access is difficult and rapid recovery is challenging, manpower was intensively supported for three days due to the urgent need for recovery personnel.
Since the 17th, Daegu City has urgently supported Gyeongbuk Province with 200 million won from the disaster relief fund for purchasing daily necessities. Meanwhile, the Daegu Saemaeul Association delivered cup noodles to Haksan-ri, Chunyang-myeon, Bonghwa, and the Daegu branch of the Korean Red Cross provided 60 tents to the evacuation shelter at Yeongju Elementary School in Yeongju, Gyeongbuk. Various support activities from all sectors have been carried out. The public officials have also united with one heart and mind to visit the disaster sites directly and participate in urgently needed recovery work.
