HiteJinro Launches French Loire Premium Wine 'Clos Huza'
HiteJinro announced on the 24th that it will introduce four types of wine from the ‘Clos Rougeard’ winery to Korea for the first time as the official importer. Clos Rougeard has been sold on an allocation basis only to famous restaurants in France, but it has now been officially launched in Korea as well.
The Clos Rougeard winery was established by the Foucault family in 1664 and operated as a family-run winery in the Loire region of France until 2015. It was then acquired by the large corporation Bouygues, which has continued the tradition. The winery is considered a pioneer of organic wine, as it has not used chemical fertilizers or herbicides in grape cultivation and produces wine with minimal intervention, even before the organic and biodynamic farming trends.
‘Clos Rougeard Le Bourg’ is a 100% Cabernet Franc red wine with a deep ruby color. The 2017 vintage features production from old vines planted 80 years ago in a single vineyard, natural fermentation using only wild yeast, and aging for more than 24 months in oak barrels in a cellar 7 meters underground, following Clos Rougeard’s principles to deliver a classic yet luxurious taste. ‘Clos Rougeard Breze’ is a 100% Chenin Blanc wine characterized by a fresh acidity and a salty flavor that harmonize to create a wine with concentrated and deep flavors.
The four Clos Rougeard wines are available in limited quantities domestically and can only be found at hotels and restaurants.
