CU announced on the 24th that the 'Favorite Yonsei Cream Bread Revival Event,' planned to celebrate the sale of 40 million Yonsei Milk Cream Breads, is receiving great attention.
Since the 20th, CU has been conducting the 'Favorite Yonsei Cream Bread Revival Event' on its own commerce application (app) PocketCU, where customers vote on bringing back discontinued products from the existing Yonsei Cream Bread series. The event allows customers to vote for one of four discontinued candidates?melon, corn, yellow cheese, and red bean fresh cream bread?and the product selected as number one will be newly launched at the end of next month.
The event saw over 40,000 participants within just one day of its launch. Since then, about 10,000 people have voted daily, and as of the 23rd, the fourth day of the event, the number of participants surpassed 70,000.
Currently, the corn fresh cream bread is leading with 34% of the votes, followed by yellow cheese fresh cream bread at 25%, melon fresh cream bread at 23%, and red bean fresh cream bread at 18%. Voting results are updated in real time, and the announcement of the winner will be on August 7.
These products have been operated as seasonal limited editions since last year, depending on seasonal changes. Each release has sparked significant interest, often selling out completely through PocketCU pre-orders.
Fresh cream bread is handmade, limiting the maximum daily production quantity, which also restricts the number of items operated. Currently, CU offers four types of fresh cream bread: milk, chocolate, matcha, and Hallabong. In addition to bread, CU is diversifying Yonsei Milk products with items like cupcakes.

Yonsei Milk Cream Bread, first launched in January last year, became a mega-hit product by selling 25 million units throughout the year. A total of nine products have been released so far, and this year’s new products have also gained popularity, pushing cumulative sales to over 40 million units in 19 months as of this month. This product accounts for about 60% of CU’s dessert sales. In the first half of this year, CU’s dessert sales growth rate was 135.6% compared to the previous year, surpassing last year’s 120.6% for the same period.
