Ahn Hyeong-ju, Gwangju Seo-gu Council Member, Passes 'Public Project Management Ordinance Amendment'
The Gwangju Seo-gu Council announced on the 23rd that the "Partial Amendment to the Ordinance on the Management of Public Contest Projects" (hereinafter referred to as the Public Contest Project Ordinance), proposed by Councilor Ahn Hyeong-ju during the 313th extraordinary session, was approved as originally proposed by the relevant standing committee.
The Public Contest Project Ordinance was amended to establish an efficient promotion and management system, including prior feasibility reviews, when applying for public contest projects worth 500 million KRW or more, in response to the recent increase in public contest projects hosted by central government departments and various organizations.
The ordinance includes key provisions such as ▲ the formation and operation of project teams ▲ regulations on prior review and promotion of public contest projects ▲ regulations on reporting to the council and incentives.
Councilor Ahn stated, "The indiscriminate attraction of public contest projects is placing a significant burden on the district's financial management and is also a major cause of budget non-utilization. As the need for prior feasibility reviews and management systems for public contest projects has emerged, the ordinance was amended to enable more efficient project promotion and management."
