Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, Cleared of Charges for Violating Parking Lot Act
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, who faced controversy after being accused of violating the Building Act and Parking Lot Act by a civic group shortly after taking office in July last year during the 8th term of the civilian government, has been cleared of charges by the police.
The civic group and some media outlets alleged that Mayor Park was using legally required parking spaces for other purposes, raising suspicions of violations of the Building Act and Parking Lot Act.
The Seoul Mapo Police Station received the complaint and investigated Mayor Park Gang-su for alleged violations of the Building Act, but ultimately decided on May 31 to dismiss the case, finding no charges.
