Sejong City Provides 'Special Cooling Expenses' Support to Vulnerable Groups and Social Welfare Facilities
Sejong City announced on the 21st that it will provide special cooling cost support to vulnerable groups and social welfare facilities in the region using disaster relief funds from July to August.
The total support amount is 291.3 million KRW, and the payment is expected to be completed on the 21st.
The recipients include 5,614 vulnerable households (4,992 basic livelihood security recipients and 622 near-poverty households) and 37 social welfare facilities excluded from the government's special cooling cost support.
Sejong City will provide 50,000 KRW per household to vulnerable groups and between 200,000 KRW and 1,000,000 KRW per social facility.
The special cooling cost will be paid in cash without application, separate from the government's energy vouchers (energy vouchers).

Mayor Choi Min-ho of Sejong City said, "As the heatwave continues before the heavy rain damage is even restored, the cooling cost burden on vulnerable groups is increasing," adding, "Sejong City will carefully monitor to ensure that vulnerable groups can spend the summer healthily, in addition to providing special cooling cost support."
