Heavy Rain Damage Situation, Commitment to Cooperation Through Sharing National Treasury Budget Issues
Suncheon Mayor Noh Kwan-gyu and National Assembly member So Byung-chul held a meeting on the 20th to discuss current issues in Suncheon.
This meeting was held to share the damage situation caused by the record-breaking heavy rain, to prepare future countermeasures, and to share key points regarding Suncheon City's national budget and establish joint response plans.
Amid nationwide damage caused by unprecedented record-breaking heavy rain, Suncheon City, led by Mayor Noh Kwan-gyu, has been making every effort in advance to prepare for disasters.
Assemblyman So Byung-chul expressed his gratitude, saying, “I thank all the Suncheon city officials who have responded well under the leadership of Mayor Noh Kwan-gyu despite the disaster situation,” and added, “Fortunately, there were no casualties in Suncheon, and I believe that you will continue to respond well without letting your guard down.”
Regarding securing the national budget, the focus was on fostering new industries that will be the future of the city, such as the creation of an animation cluster, restoration of the Suncheon Dongcheon Estuary Wetland, and development of a core base for the garden culture industry, as well as matters related to restoring the city’s ecosystem.
Additionally, cooperation will be strengthened for the official designation of the National Suncheon University, which was recently listed on the preliminary list of Glocal University 30.
Meanwhile, Mayor Noh Kwan-gyu and Assemblyman So Byung-chul expressed their intention to continuously join forces to secure new growth engines for Suncheon through this meeting.
