Samsung C&T Expands Construction Site Video Recording System to Enhance Quality and Safety
Samsung C&T is gradually expanding its video construction recording system currently implemented at major construction sites. This move is in response to Seoul City's announcement to add photo and video recording requirements for key construction stages as a condition for building permits to prevent poor construction quality.
On the 20th, Samsung C&T's Construction Division announced plans to upgrade and expand its 24-hour real-time video recording system, currently applied to apartment projects that have obtained project implementation approval.
Samsung C&T already operates a system that records work processes by installing closed-circuit televisions (CCTV) and mobile cameras throughout sites and utilizing drones. The headquarters' control room monitors the construction process via CCTV to comprehensively inspect quality and safety risk factors and supports immediate improvements.
Structural design experts are stationed at each site to verify structural safety throughout the entire construction process. Additionally, a quality virtuous cycle council is operated to analyze defect cases and strengthen quality by improving design and construction method standards.
