Umi Hope Foundation Supports the Development of Young Athletes with Disabilities in Sports
Donation of 150 Million KRW to the Korea Paralympic Committee
On the 19th, the Umi Hope Foundation announced on the 20th that it had signed a sponsorship agreement with the Korea Paralympic Committee to discover and nurture promising athletes with disabilities.

View original imageThis sponsorship targets summer and winter sports excluding the five disciplines currently supported by government funding (badminton, swimming, athletics, table tennis, taekwondo). The total sponsorship amount is 150 million KRW and will be used for ▲summer and winter basic sports camps ▲scholarships for outstanding athletes ▲training expenses for top athletes.
Lee Chun-seok, Secretary General of the Umi Hope Foundation, stated, “We plan not only sports experience programs but also psychological and emotional recovery and career programs through public-private cooperation,” adding, “We hope this opportunity will allow promising athletes to jump forward boldly toward the world without being discouraged by disabilities or economic circumstances.”
