Haman-gun Begins Arrival of Foreign Seasonal Workers in the Second Half of the Year
Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is implementing a foreign seasonal worker program through the invitation of marriage immigrant families and relatives starting this year.
Following the arrival of 37 workers in the first half of the year, 45 seasonal workers for the second half have been arriving sequentially since the 14th.
The 45 foreign seasonal workers arriving this time for the second half are assigned to 21 farms and will be engaged in the cultivation and production of crops, alleviating the labor shortage that farmers have been experiencing.

Upon arrival, seasonal workers undergo procedures such as drug testing and foreigner registration and stay for five months. The local government supports employers by covering costs such as drug test fees, foreigner registration fees, transportation expenses, and industrial accident insurance fees.
Seasonal workers who are recognized by employers for their diligent work during the contract period may be re-employed, which is expected to greatly help in continuous farm management and labor recruitment.
The county plans to maintain active monitoring of each farm and close communication with marriage immigrants to ensure early stabilization of seasonal workers' lives and guarantee appropriate working conditions.
