Promotion of Recovery for Kim Farming Grounds by September, Jindo Fishermen Negative Toward Haenam Side's Negotiation Proposal
Jindo County Fisheries Cooperative in Jeollanam-do has formed a task force team for the Maro (Manho) sea area and plans to restore the seaweed farming grounds by next month.
Previously, in December last year, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Jindo fishermen, ending a dispute that had lasted nearly 40 years with the Haenam fishermen.
More than 110 fishermen from Haenam held rallies in front of Jindo County Office and Jindo County Fisheries Cooperative on the morning of the 19th.

In this regard, the Jindo County Fisheries Cooperative and Jindo County are accelerating follow-up measures.
On the 19th, they launched the "Maro (Manho) Sea Area Countermeasure Council (TF Team)" and officially began establishing plans to restore the 1,370-hectare seaweed farming grounds.
On the other hand, the Haenam fishermen, who lost the Maro (Manho) sea area, appealed to Jindo for coexistence.
On the 19th, about 10 representatives of Haenam fishermen visited the Jindo County Fisheries Cooperative, which held a meeting of the "Maro (Manho) Sea Area Countermeasure Council (TF Team)," but the meeting was canceled due to refusal from the Jindo side.
In response, over 110 Haenam fishermen held rallies in front of Jindo County Office and the Jindo County Fisheries Cooperative on the morning of the 19th, stating, "We apologize to Jindo for our past wrongful actions," and appealed, "We hope Jindo will accept the negotiation proposal so that Haenam fishermen can sustain their livelihoods and coexist together."
