Resolving Night and Holiday Medical Service Gaps, Positive Resident Response

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced on the 20th that since the designation of the public late-night pharmacy in January this year, about 1,000 people have used it over six months, with around 10 people per day, showing steady growth in usage.

In particular, families raising infants and young children as well as tourists visiting Gohung have responded very positively to the availability of a pharmacy where they can purchase medicines during nighttime hours.

The public late-night pharmacy is a pharmacy where a pharmacist is on duty 365 days a year during late-night hours (from 10 PM to 12 AM), providing professional services such as dispensing according to doctor’s prescriptions and proper medication guidance. It contributes to filling the gap in medical care during nighttime and holidays and offers convenience for residents purchasing medicines.

The public late-night pharmacy operated by Gohung-gun is Hwashin Pharmacy located near the Gohung Bus Terminal.

Meanwhile, Gohung-gun conducts monthly management of the public late-night pharmacy’s operational performance and inspects its operation during late-night hours. Inspection results show that it is operating normally during late-night hours.

A health center official stated, “We will utilize various promotional methods to ensure that local residents and tourists do not experience inconvenience when purchasing medicines during late-night hours, and we will continuously develop health policies to improve the convenience of residents’ health and actively incorporate them into administration.”
