Man in his 30s arrested and sent to prosecution for assault in Nowon-gu elevator with intent of sexual assault
A man in his 30s who followed a woman at dawn with the intent to sexually assault her and threatened her has been handed over to the prosecution in custody.
According to the police on the 20th, the Nowon Police Station in Seoul sent Mr. A to prosecution in custody on the 18th on charges of attempted abduction for the purpose of rape.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of following a woman in her 20s into an elevator of an apartment in Sanggye-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul, around 12:30 a.m. on the 3rd, and after the woman got off, following her, strangling her neck, and threatening her by saying, "If you scream, I will kill you."
A neighbor who heard the commotion reported it to the police, and the police identified Mr. A as the suspect based on tracking closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage. Mr. A reportedly stated during the police investigation, "I don't remember because I was drunk."
