According to Gangwon Province on the 19th, African Swine Fever occurred in Cheorwon-gun. This is 52 days after the outbreak in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province in April. To block horizontal transmission between farms, a temporary movement suspension order has been issued for 48 hours until midnight on the 20th for nine cities and counties including Cheorwon-gun and adjacent municipalities.
According to related industries, there have been cases where genes related to pig infection were replaced to treat African Swine Fever. In particular, researchers at the Roslin Institute in the UK are known to have succeeded in creating pigs resistant to viral diseases by manipulating genes using CRISPR-Cas9.
