The parties participating in the agreement include Kbiz, the Win-Win Growth Committee, the Korea Corrugated Packaging Industry Cooperative, the Korea Box Industry Cooperative, the Korea Paper Association, Hansol Paper, Clean Planet, Seha, and Hanchang Paper, totaling nine organizations.
This agreement is the result of continuous dialogue, communication, and cooperative efforts involving mutual concessions at a higher level between the small and medium box packaging industry and large raw material supplying corporations, mediated by Kbiz and the Win-Win Growth Committee, following conflicts that arose in March over the price increase of white paperboard, the raw material for box packaging.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲ sharing domestic and international market information related to raw materials (white paperboard) and improving the trading environment ▲ discovering cooperative measures to promote the circulation of paper resources and expand demand for box packaging materials ▲ developing eco-friendly packaging materials, improving the image of paper, and jointly creating new demand.
Going forward, Kbiz and the Win-Win Growth Committee plan to make efforts to ensure smooth win-win cooperation between the two industries by regularly holding win-win council meetings to discover win-win programs.
Yang Chan-hoe, Head of the Innovation Growth Division at Kbiz, said, “The packaging and paper industries are partners that must grow together,” adding, “We will use this agreement as an opportunity to move beyond fragmented transactional relationships and build a win-win growth model through communication between upstream and downstream industries.”
