Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of National Defense Launch Meeting Body to Develop 'Customized Defense Export Strategy'
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defense are joining forces to devise a tailored defense industry export support strategy.
The first "Regional Defense Industry Export Network Meeting" (hereinafter referred to as the Defense Export Meeting), co-chaired by Oh Young-joo, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Shin Beom-cheol, Vice Minister of National Defense, was held on the 19th at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building.
In this meeting, heads of overseas diplomatic missions in the European region participated via video conference to explain the local European situation and the conditions for Korean defense companies to enter the market.
In his opening remarks, Vice Minister Oh emphasized that since a defense collaboration fast track between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defense has been established, it is time to upgrade our strategy to become one of the world's top four defense exporters. Vice Minister Shin stressed the need to integrate efforts across ministries to expand defense exports.
