12,358 Units Including Renault Master and Honda Odyssey Recalled for Failing Safety Standards
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 19th that manufacturing defects were found in 12,358 units of 6 vehicle models imported and sold by Renault Korea Motors, Honda Korea, and BikeOne, and they will voluntarily take corrective actions (recalls).
Among them, 6,363 units of the Renault Master were found to have manufacturing defects in the side auxiliary turn signal lights, resulting in luminance and chromaticity not meeting safety standards. The recall will begin on the 21st.
For Honda, 5,389 units of two models, Odyssey and Pilot, were found to have safety standard violations due to a faulty audio communication wiring connector causing the rear camera to malfunction. Additionally, 45 units of the Pilot were found to have a defect where the brake does not operate due to improper tightening of the screw connecting the brake master cylinder and vacuum pump. These vehicles will also be recalled starting on the 21st.
For two motorcycle models including the Can-Am Spyder F3, 381 units were detected to have a risk of accidents due to early wear caused by insufficient durability of the front chain gear and improper power transmission. For two motorcycle models including Ryker, 180 units were found to have safety standard violations due to reduced restoration force of the brake light switch, causing the brake light to remain on even when the brake pedal is not pressed. The recall will begin on the 25th.

Regarding the recall, each manufacturer plans to notify vehicle owners of the corrective measures via mail and mobile text messages. If a vehicle owner has repaired the defect at their own expense, they can apply for reimbursement of repair costs from the manufacturer. Whether a vehicle is subject to recall and detailed manufacturing defect information can be checked by entering the vehicle number or chassis number on the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Vehicle Recall Center website.
