View original imageThe product developed by Doosan Construction was created to improve the characteristic of conventional Type 1 blast furnace slag cement, which typically has lower early strength compared to Portland cement. This patent involves a technology that adds blast furnace slag powder and alkali activators to reduce the cement ratio in concrete by about 30% while achieving equivalent or superior performance.
Concrete gains its design strength over time, but if early strength is not properly secured, the likelihood of quality degradation and safety accidents increases. This is why a higher cement ratio is used in concrete during the winter season.
However, by applying the technology developed by Doosan, concrete can be produced with a lower cement ratio. Additionally, reducing cement usage contributes to lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Typically, 0.8 tons of carbon dioxide are emitted per 1 ton of cement produced.
