Jeong Cheong-rae, a Supreme Council Member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized, saying, "President Yoon Seok-yeol's crisis response attitude is zero points."
On the 18th, Jeong appeared on KBS Radio's 'Choi Kyung-young's Strongest Current Affairs' and said, "When asked why he went to Ukraine, the presidential office explained that since he was not in a position to change the situation even if he rushed back to Seoul, he went to Ukraine," expressing this view.

He added, "But yesterday, at the landslide site, President Yoon said, 'I thought the mountains behind the houses had collapsed enough to cover the residential areas.'" Then he pointed out, "Isn't that a completely irrelevant statement?"
Jeong said, "Even if it was a situation that could not be changed or helped, isn't it necessary to comfort, heal, and empathize with the people?" He continued, "So, from my perspective, the empathy ability is zero. I think people will be very disappointed, wondering if this is really the kind of president we have."
Regarding the recent flooding accident at the underground passage in Osong, Cheongju, Chungbuk, he pointed out, "Although it was a natural disaster, it was an accident close to a man-made one." Jeong said, "There were weather forecasts and 112 emergency calls," and added, "If they had just controlled traffic with a red flag, this would not have happened."

He said, "If there had been even a sign on both sides saying 'Flooding is expected, please detour,' and just one person on each side, they could have turned everyone away." He added, "When more than 500mm of heavy rain falls intensively like this, underground passages are always at risk of flooding. I feel regretful that they did not just control traffic."
