Gwangju National Science Museum Hosts 'Human-Robot Interaction' Science School
The National Gwangju Science Museum will jointly host the July Science School with Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) in the Sang-sang Hall of the building on the 19th.
Professor Heo Pil-won from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at GIST has been invited to give a lecture on the topic of "Human-Robot Interaction."
Participants will learn about human movement, cognition, learning principles, motor control, and the interaction between robots and humans.
Professor Heo completed his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Hanyang University, earned a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), and obtained master's and doctoral degrees in Applied Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering from Illinois State University.
He then conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Wisconsin and is currently an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at GIST. His main research areas include human-robot interaction, neuromechanics, rehabilitation robotics, and control.
The Science School is open to anyone from children to adults free of charge, with on-site admission available after online pre-registration.

Participants will receive a souvenir of a robotic arm modeled after a human arm, new participants without reservations this year from the July event onward will receive a special souvenir, and those who post reviews of the lecture on social media will be given mobile coupons upon verification.
