Seocho-gu (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) is holding the regular children’s performance series ‘Seoripul Akdong (樂童) Cultural Performances’ for children and their parents to enjoy together until the end of the year.
First launched in 2018, the ‘Seoripul Akdong Cultural Performances’ stimulate infants’ and toddlers’ imagination and develop their thinking skills by offering music plays, magic shows, musicals, and experiential plays. So far, a total of 78 performances have been held with over 60,000 attendees, and nearly all performances have sold out early, receiving great acclaim from both children and parents.
To coincide with the summer vacation period for young children, on the 27th at 7:00 PM, the environmental musical ‘Gaegul Gaegul Gorae Gorae’ will be presented at Banpo Simsang Art Hall. This musical has been recognized for its outstanding quality, having been selected for creation by the National Asia Culture Center and awarded the grand prize at the Chuncheon Puppet Festival. The performance conveys the theme of the preciousness of nature and water suffering from indiscriminate plastic use through songs, rhythmic movements, and puppet shows, making it easy and fun for children to understand.
On August 18th, an exciting classical music educational play, ‘Kungjjak Kungjjak Music Train,’ is also prepared to help forget the hot summer. It rearranges the music of classical masters Haydn, Beethoven, and Mozart into lively percussion rhythms and incorporates a fairy-tale-like story to increase interest in classical music and stimulate children’s sensitivity.
The ‘Seoripul Akdong Cultural Performances’ will be held once a month until December this year, and reservations are made through the Interpark website with assigned seating after membership registration. Tickets cost 5,000 KRW per person, and Seocho-gu residents can purchase tickets at a 50% discount for 2,500 KRW per person.
