Ministry of the Interior and Safety Dispatches Situation Managers to Heavy Rain Damage Areas in Sejong and Gyeongbuk
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety has dispatched situation managers to areas affected by casualties due to heavy rain.
On the 15th, the ministry announced that it urgently deployed six teams of on-site situation managers to regions where casualties occurred from the heavy rain that began pouring since the previous night.
The areas with casualties include Sejong, Chungju in Chungbuk, Cheongyang and Nonsan in Chungnam, Yecheon, Mungyeong, Bonghwa, and Yeongju in Gyeongbuk, and Jeonju in Jeonbuk.
Han Chang-seop, Vice Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, stated, "To prevent further casualties, the government will take preemptive and proactive measures, even if they are excessive."
The dispatched on-site situation managers plan to focus on checking whether residents have been evacuated in areas with a high risk of collapse due to the heavy rain.
