Damyang-gun Makes All-Out Effort to Secure National Funds by Visiting Ministry of Economy and Finance
Efforts to Secure Momentum for Key Projects Including the Establishment of the International Meditation Center
Damyang-gun is making an all-out effort to secure national funding necessary for key projects that will drive regional development.
On the 14th, Jeollanam-do Damyang-gun announced that it visited the Ministry of Economy and Finance on the 13th to request national funding support for major pending projects, including the construction of the Damyang-gun International Meditation Center.
Deputy Governor Choi Young-joo, Director of Future Growth Bureau, Director of Planning and Budget Office, and heads of departments in charge of major pending projects participated together.
Damyang-gun visited relevant departments such as the Cultural Budget Division, Climate and Environment Budget Division, and Land, Infrastructure and Transport Budget Division of the Ministry of Economy and Finance to explain the feasibility of the projects and requested special attention and active support to be reflected in the government budget.
On this day, the county proposed projects currently under review by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, including ▲Construction of Damyang-gun International Meditation Center ▲Yeongsan River Damyang District Customized Integrated River Project ▲Damyang-gun Circular Landfill Facility Maintenance Project ▲Improvement Project for Dangerous Roads in Yongmyeon Wolgye District on Delegated National Road No. 29 ▲Intersection Improvement Project in Cheonbyeon District on National Road No. 24.
A county official said, “We have sufficiently explained the necessity of our county’s pending issues and project promotion, and will secure momentum for the promotion of key projects in the 8th elected administration through close cooperation with central government ministries, the National Assembly, and related organizations.”

Meanwhile, the government budget proposal will be finally submitted to the National Assembly in September after sectoral reviews by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Cabinet meeting, and the submitted proposal is expected to be finalized in early December after going through the National Assembly standing committees and the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts.
